One sentence in. A frame that has been checked out.
This one is ours, not a customer's. We built AI-Konstruktér to answer the enquiries that arrive without a drawing. Given a welded frame 4000 × 2500 mm in S355, carrying 5 t, it sizes the frame, checks it and draws it. In a company, it is trained on and driven by that company's own data: its past designs, profiles, drawing standard and corrections.

Case study – In-house · AI-Konstruktér- HEB 140main beams: the two 4 m beams along the long sides that carry the load. HEB 120 was tried first and sagged too much
- 6.4 mmsag under the load, against 8.0 mm allowed (span / 500)
- 4drawings, with a 4-line bill of materials – 574 kg
- 14.5 hof shop time, estimated with the price
The problem
Most enquiries arrive as a sentence, not a drawing.
A customer gives a size, a load and a material. Before anyone can quote, a designer has to choose the profiles, check them, model the frame and draw it.
That is a day or two of work for a frame that is nearly the same as the last one. We wanted to see how much of it can be computed and checked.
What we built
What we built.
Four parts, each one runnable on the product page today.
- 01
A brief in plain words
Length, width and load. Change a number and everything after it follows.
- 02
Sizing by the rules
Legs and cross members placed by spacing rules, beams chosen from a table of real sections.
- 03
Checks before drawings
Every beam is checked for sag and stress. A section that fails is replaced by the next one up, and the page says why.
- 04
Everything the shop needs
Model, drawings, bill of materials, cuts, holes and welds, with an estimated shop time and price.
The product · Ready to deploy
What you just read is AI-Konstruktér.
For companies that design what they make: a brief in plain words becomes a checked 3D model, drawings in your standard, a bill of materials and the operations to build it.
How it works
From the sentence to the price.
The same steps run every time the brief changes.
- 01
Brief
A welded frame 4000 × 2500 mm in S355, carrying 5 t.
- 02
Size and check
HEB 120 sags 11.3 mm: too much. HEB 140 sags 6.4 mm: passes.
- 03
Model and draw
15 parts, 4 drawings and a 4-line bill of materials.
- 04
Price
15 cuts, 16 holes and 18 welds give 14.5 h of shop time and a price.
The result
A frame from one sentence, sized, checked and drawn.
Frames of any size within the limits come back sized, checked and drawn in a second, and you can try it yourself on the product page.
In a company, it is trained on that company's own data – past designs, profiles, drawing standard and corrections – so what it draws looks like their work, not a generic frame. It builds on the CAD-generation work we did for a robotics startup.
The same approach works for
- Frames, racks, platforms and conveyors made in variants
- Quoting enquiries that come as a size and a load, not a drawing
- Drawings and bills of materials for product families with fixed rules
